The first Europagaai summer courses has kicked off last Sunday.
Jasper Mosk is at the Piemonte valley paddling the Sesia River and the creeks around. After the Sesia he will be heading off to Slovenia on the Soça river.
I'm currently coaching on the Soça River for one week and until Jasper is here. The Soça is such a nice place to coach people kayaking. The river is crystal clear the area is beautiful and there are heaps of eddies in the River. The flow of the river is a bit low but great for beginners or intermediate paddlers. For the advanced paddlers there is still enough action on the section above the Kattarak canyon and below this canyon.
The group is doing well and I love to see the progress they make in just a few days! From weak strokes, swimming, scared faces.. I now after 3 days see powerful long strokes, people getting high in the eddies, starting to surf some waves on the river and best of all getting a smile on the river!
After this week I'm heading off to Bratislava, Slovakia and will be working in the French Pyrenees and French Alps a couple days later. Although it's working I love to do it and can't wait to arrive in the French Alps.. with warm water, an awesome camping owner and a sweet French village..
The Soça will be busy this year as next week there will be a group of 40 Europagaai paddlers on the water and the week after about the same.

Tomorrow is the last day of this week group.. and we will and with a dinner in the city Bovec.. but tonight we get a sweet meal of one of our clients as he is a chef!
